Chua's circuit
Leon Chua's 1983 nonlinear circuit, the first physically realised chaotic electronic system. Double-scroll attractor; the piecewise-linear nonlinearity f comes from the 'Chua diode'.
Equations
dx/dt = α (y − x − f(x))
dy/dt = x − y + z
dz/dt = −β y
f(x) = m1 x + 0.5 (m0 − m1) (|x + 1| − |x − 1|)At a glance
| Parameters | α = 15.6, β = 28, m0 = −1.143, m1 = −0.714 (double scroll) |
